Michelle Hood (nee Corker)was born in W.A.
She was a part Aboriginal baby who, due to sad
circumstances was adopted out to a loving Adventist farming
family in South Western W.A.
What was for the most part, and should have remained an
amazing childhood, was punctuated with horror. Michelle,
unbeknown to her loving family was being groomed by a
ruthless predator within her church community from the age
of a toddler.
This man then eventually added Michelle to his list of
victims when she was nine and she continued to suffer rape
and molestation at the hands of this man for six years.
Michelle went on to live a life of both turmoil and success
during a period that saw her excel scholastically to
achieve university degrees in Nursing, Psychology and Law.
She has extensive experience in nursing and health related
issues and her degree in psychology majoring in counseling
has seen her practice extensively in W.A. She has worked as
a consultant within both governmental and private
departments implementing new strategies.
She is the mother of four and a grandmother of nine.
She has given a horror story a happy ending with her
courage, love, grace and faith.
Her testimony will astound you.
Graham Hood, was born in Victoria.
The son of and earth mover/plant operator, Graham spent the
first three years of his life in a construction camp in
central Victoria.
His parents were both victims of harder times.
His mother was a victim of sexual abuse as a child, at the
hands of a brutal “cane cutter” father.
His father was a child of the great depression who lost his
own father at the age of fourteen. He spent five years at
war in the 1940’s and returned home with a solid work ethic
and a desire to make good for himself with no real
education.
Alcoholism and constant struggle within the family made for
a very dysfunctional upbringing and a childhood lived at
the edge.
Graham left school at the age of thirteen and had a
juvenile criminal conviction by the age of seventeen.
He is now a respected Captain for one of the world’s most
trusted airlines.
In his role he has helped in facilitating communication and
team building workshops for pilots in the airline and the
military.
He has also been active in Peer assistance programs and
welfare and conflict resolution both within the airline and
elsewhere. Graham is
currently involved in the mentoring program within his
airline assisting new hire pilots assimilate into their
chosen careers.
Graham is an accomplished facilitator and a keen public
speaker.
He is as open and honest about his failings as he is about
his success and is a passionate participant in his future
and the future of others.
