Celebrate Recovery

We are proud to be associated with the world renowned Celebrate Recovery twelve step program.
Designed by Pastor John Baker and proudly supported by Pastor Rick Warren from the Saddle Back Church in California U.S.A., C.R. is a well tested Christ based recovery program for those who suffer from hurts, hang-ups and habits.
It is based on the beatitudes and the Sermon on the Mount delivered by Jesus Christ.
This program has changed the lives of thousands around the world in churches of every denomination.
Our program commences at the Burleigh Gardens Seventh Day Adventist church on the Queensland Gold Coast in April 2008.
We are happy to assist other organizations in establishing their own C.R. ministry.

The Healing Power of Grace

One of our primary ministries at Mission Serenity is to help the now adult victims of childhood abuse within the church and other organizations to recover to a full and meaningful life.
Michelle suffered at the hands of a church elder for six years when she was only a small child.
Her life was to take many destructive turns from that period on.
She has been able to turn this around and regain control of her life again through the Healing Power of Grace.
Michelle’s testimony will inspire you.
She found the faith and courage to find the man who abused her and____________
forgive him.
Since then her life has exploded with relevance.
Part of our ministry at Mission Serenity is to run retreat seminars for past victims and their families.
We are planning to set up a country retreat in Northern N.S.W. for this purpose.
Invited participants will then be able to avail themselves of counseling, healing and life reconstruction with Michelle, Graham and their committed volunteers and supporters.
Michelle’s testimony goes on the road to your church or community group anywhere in Australia by special arrangement.

Healing the Male Spirit

Another of our core ministries at Mission Serenity is related to men and the spiritual void or the Black Hole that is a very destructive part of the male physiology and psychology.
It is this misunderstood and neglected part of the lives of men that is at the root of some of the worst crimes committed in our society.
Graham has come from a life that was almost totally destroyed by his slavery to the Black Hole.
From this experience he has studied the male situation in order to heal himself.
He now sees this research and experience as a valuable resource from which to help others.
His programs deal with unhealthy addictions to such demons as alcohol, sex, food, pornography, co -dependency and AFFLUENZA.
Graham’s testimony will, like Michelle’s, inspire you, and we will consider any requests to present at your church or community group.
Graham will also give inspirational talks and run multi day or evening seminars to deal with these issues.
Too often we hear the same comment in our society.
“Where have all the real men gone?”

Family Communication Skills

Michelle and Graham, like all of us have made many mistakes in their lives.
At Mission Serenity our motto is “So what, now what?”
Michelle’s university degrees in psychology, law and nursing as well as the University of life degree in raising her own children has not been wasted here.
Graham has the University of Life Degree also as well as a wealth of experience in the airline industry training pilots both civil and military, in communication skills and team work.
They have developed programs to assist families in better communication skills and enhanced listening tactics.
Many everyday issues in families could be less stressful if family members knew how to listen.
Available are talks and seminars to suit your church, school or community groups.

Role Model and Mentoring

There are many seniors in our society who have a passion to pass on their career and life skills to younger teens.
We feel there is a need to link people who have been screened and chosen for this task with teens who may have been raised by single parent families and need some of these skills.
We will pair these seniors and teens off together in groups to work on projects together.
At the retreat property, “Serenity” we will have a fully equipped workshop with the facilities to work on cabinet making and building projects.
One of our volunteers is renowned Gold Coast builder and cabinet maker Noel Glenn.
Noel is a craftsman in the old school and still remembers the fine art of a hand cut dovetail joint and the finer arts of raising children and living life.
He has experiences in running a business and training apprentices.
Noel is one of nature’s finest gentlemen and has a passion and honor that is just too solid to waste.
We will also have well established gardens and orchards and people equipped to pass on the horticultural gifts they also posses.
This list will grow as more people come on board with us, so stay in touch with the latest news link to keep informed.
